A B O U T

Wynonna Judd broke onto the music scene as one half of the mother-daughter tandem, The Judds, who performed together from 1983 to 1991. Wynonna and her mother, Naomi, scored twenty-three top-ten country hits (fourteen number one tracks), which included such memorable tunes as "Mama He's Crazy," "Grandpa (Tell Me Bout The Good Old Days)" and "Love Can Build a Bridge." The duo was lauded for their eight studio albums, which won them mulitple CMA and Grammy awards.

After almost ten years on the road together, Naomi announced her retirment due to hepatitus (which has since gone into remission, allowing Naomi and Wynonna to occasionally perform together again). Wynonna promptly continued on to a sucessful solo career, with three platinum albums to her name - "Wynonna", "Revelations" and "Tell Me Why" (two of which, "Wynonna" and "Tell Me Why", hit #1 on the Billboard Country Album Sales charts); her other albums include "The Other Side," (which is Gold Certified) "New Day Dawning", "What The World Needs Now Is Love," (Which also hit #1) and "Her Story: Scenes from a Lifetime", plus a greatest hits compilation and a Christmas album. She's had twenty-two top ten country hits, plus a top 12 dance hit with a remix of "I Want To Know What Love Is". ("No One Else on Earth," "She is His Only Need", "To Be Loved By You" and "I Saw The Light" all went to number one on the country charts); she also participated in the soundtrack recordings for "Honeymoon in Vegas" and "Lilo And Stitch", which has led to praise for her growling covers of the works of Elvis Pressley.

Wy has also released a successful autobiography in 2005 (Coming Home To Myself), and she's branched out into acting, appearing on shows such as Touched by an Angel and Hope and Faith, and hosting the fourth season of the reality contest Nashville Star. She's currently in the studio working on a brand-new album, to be released in 2008.
