A B O U T

Launched in 1997, TV Land is a digital cable channel - a spin off of Nick at Night - which features 24 hours of television's classic sitcoms, dramas and westerns, as well as programming related to it, such as the TV Land Awards.

TV Land supports many tv-related causes, from the mundane - such as supporting various programs and preserving TV's heritage - to the wild - errecting statues of fameous TV characters or actors in the cities where the shows are based.

In 2004, TV Land began to air original programming - an animated program featuring the Dick Van Dyke show's Alan Brady and Alf's Hit Talk Show. In 2005 they began airing "Chasing Farrah", a reality show tailing Charlie's Angels star Farrah Fawcett, which was a hit - the network has since begun to air long blocks of original programming such as "Living In TV Land", an hourlong reality show which follows various people who were once on TV shows through a day in their lives. Current reality-related shows airing on the network include "Stand Up with David Steinberg" a talk show in which the comedy legend quizzes tv-based comedians on their lives, the urban-legend related progam "TV Land's Myths and Legends", "Back to the Grind," in which classic TV stars try to do the jobs their characters were fameous for, and "TV Land Confidential," which reveals little-known details of various popular TV shows. It began airing its first Reality show aquisition "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" in August of 2007. The network is also airing movies on Friday nights from 10 PM to 12 AM EST.

The reality series "High School Reunion", a reality show following a reunited high school class, debuted in March of 2008 to good ratings - TV Land promptly greenlit five more reality shows: The Big 4-0 (about lavish 40th birthday parties), First Love Second Chance (high school sweethearts reunite), Now or Never (empty nesters live out their old dreams), Make My Day (Hidden Camera show), What's In The Box? (Game Show) and Family Foreman (celebrity reality). The show She's Got The Look (about 40+ year old runway models) became the show's second reality hit in 2008.
