A B O U T

Randy Hickey is Earl Hickey's younger brother in the sitcom "My Name Is Earl." The son of Carl and Kay Hickey, Randy was always slightly slower than his brother Earl mentally. Lacking a direction of his own, he was an accomplice in Earl's life of crime, and when Earl won the lottery, broke his neck and dedicated his life to "The List," Randy did the same, despite being somewhat wary of the list's power.

Randy is an uncomplicated soul, one who has a philisophical explanation for the simplest of life's offerings. He's childlike and somewhat innocent but prone to unchaste crushes on women like Catalina.

Randy lives with Earl in a motel, and they share a car as well as Earl's mission. The only area in which Randy hasn't shadowed Earl has been his lovelife.

During the first season, Randy developed a pronounded crush on Catalina, a maid working at the motel the Hickeys were staying it. It was unrequited on Catalina's part. In the second season, Catalina went back into stripping and was accidentally busted by the cops as an illegal immagrent. To get Catalina back in the US legally, Randy married her. Overjoyed to think that she genuinely returned his affection, he was hurt by her quick rejection, but they ended up consumating the marriage. In sleeping with Catalina, Randy was able to overcome his crush- mostly because Catalina had doused herself with smelly foodstuffs beforehand in an attempt to put Randy off. But the crush seems to have turned back in on Catalina - he's the best lover she's ever had - and now she has a crush on Randy.

When Earl was sent to prison in season 3, Randy contemplated committing a crime to share a jail cell with his brother; but ultimately, Randy was able to do the right thing and became a prison guard instead. Unfortunately, his genial nature makes him a vulnerable target for te men he's guarding.

Randy loves vending machine food, Smokey and the Bandit, and old school rap; he's afraid of birds and paper cuts and is very allergic to cats. He listens to "Time after Time" by Cyndi Lauper when he's had his heart broken, and his favorite song seems to be "It Takes Two" by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock.
