A B O U T

SUMMARY: H.I. McDunnough is a small-time criminal who meets and falls in love with police photographer Edwina over the course of his several arrests. They marry and he goes straight, but the two encounter infertility. In response to their inability to adopt and Ed's rising depression, H.I. and Ed kidnap one of the Arizona quints, born recently to local furniture magnates.

Ed and H.I.'s lives are blissful for a short while, until H.I.'s rising inseccurity about his compatibility with Ed begins to boil to the surface. Two of H.I.'s old prison buddies, Gale and Evelle, break out of jail and impose themselves on H.I. and Ed. On top of that H.I.'s boss, Glen, makes an improper advance toward Ed - when H.I. punches him in the face, Glen fires him.

Short of money, H.I. reverts to his old ways and robs a convenience store. Resultantly, he and Ed begin to fall apart as a couple, and when Glen shows up and threatens to expose H.I.'s misdeeds if he doesn't hand over Nathan Junior Gale and Evelle betray H.I. and take Nathan for the reward money.

Ed and H.I. team up to rescue the baby, who is accidentally abandoned by Galeand Evelle on a highway after a successful bank robbery. Enter Leonard Smalls, a bounty hunter searching for Nathan Junior for his own nefarious desires. Ed and H.I. must face off against him (and, in H.I.'s case, against his own dark side) to reclaim Nathan and return him to his family.
