A B O U T

Neela and Michael first met when she was a medical student in season 10. He took special interest in her, and eventually took the blame for the death of a patient Neela had incorrectly medicated, sparing her a probable dismissal from County. They became gradually closer, only to have the course of things interrupted by Michael's unit being called up to serve in Iraq.

They carried on a corrispondance, through which they fell further in love. When he returned home on leave they made love and committed to each other.

A year later, his tour of Duty finally up, Michael returned home and they had an impulsive wedding. Unfortunately, his time overseas had changed Michael. While undergoing counciling for post-traumatic stress, he felt less able to cope with the civilian world than he though. Soon he felt the need to return to Iraq and signed up for a second tour, much to Neela's anger.

Neela struggled with her anti-war feelings, with the duty of being an army wife, and with the pain of a long-distance relationship until Michael was killed by a roadside bomb.

His last words were about her.
