A B O U T

Romeo and Mercutio are kinsmen in the Montague clan and exact opposites. Mercutio is unromantic, bears a cynical edge and reserves his greatest passion for jousting with the Capulets. Romeo is a dreamer, an idealizer who persues love over his own health and sanity. Mercutio mocks Romeo for his interest in romantic wooing over death-dealing; Romeo expresses disgust in Mercutio's teasing. Despite their opposing paths, the two cousins are deeply devoted to each other, and it's that multual devotion - and Mercutio's hatred of the Capulets - that leads them to their ultimate doom.
