Set in Texas, King of the Hill features the life of propane salesman Hank Hill who lives with his substitute teacher/newspaper columnist/relator wife Peggy and his wannabe standup comic son Bobby. He has three close friends; conspiracy theorist and exterminator Dale Gribble (AKA Rusty Shakleford), whose weather girl/newscaster wife Nancy had a twelve-year affair with Native American healer/folksinger John Redcorn that produced "Dale's" athletic son, Joseph, pathetic army barber Bill Dauterieve and ladies' man Boomhauer. Nextdoor are Laotian social climber Kahn Soupanousenphone, his snooty wife Minh and their overachieving daughter Connie; across the street are Luanne and Lucky, Hank's "trailer trash" niece and philosophical redneck nephew-in-law. Hank works at Strickland Propane and uses Mister Strickland as a substitute father figure; Cotton Hill, Hank's father, was an abusive spouse to Hank's mother after losing his shins in World War 2. Cotton had a wife Hank's age named DiDi, and a younger son named "Good Hank" or GH; he died due to a shrimp allergy in season 12. Hank has strikingly stereotypical views about God and country and has refreshing honesty about the way he sees the world. (Yahoo! TV)
