A B O U T

"Grounded For Life" was a sitcom which aired for five seasons (two on Fox and three on the WB) from 2001-2005.

The show foccuses on the working-class Finnerty family of Staten Island New York, headed by Sean, a laborer and eventual owner of the Red Boot Pub and Claudia, a hostess and eventual college student. Claudia and Sean met in high school and began dating, resulting in Claudia's getting pregnant at seventeen and their eventual marriage at eighteen.

The result of their youthful attraction, Lily, is as the series opens a rebellious and occasionally superficial high school student who dreams of a stage career. Sean and Claudia have two more children, Jimmy - the most socially concious of the children - and enthusiastic prankster Henry.

Also involved in the Finnerty's lives are Eddie, Sean's ne're-do-well brother; Sean's gruff father Walt; Sister Helen, Sean's eternal enemy and Mother Superior at the kid's school; Brad O'Keef, next-door neighbor forever in persuit of Lily, and Dean, Lily's crush and eventual boyfriend.

At the conclusion of the series, Claudia gives birth to another Finnerty child, Grace.
