A B O U T

According to Wikipedia.com, folk rock is "a musical genere that combines elements of folk music and rock music".

Folk music arose as a national force amound the youth of the 1960's. Bob Dylan's work is considered the "Root" of the movement - but the British group The Fairport Convention is considered to be the first band to have added elements of rock to traditional celtic and british folk music, creating what is now considered "folk rock".

The sound of folk-rock is characterized by tight vocal harmonies and distortion-free guitar work. From the mid-to-late 60's, folk rock was one of the most popular mediums of entertainment. The best-known artists of the movement were Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neal Young, The Byrds, and Donnovan.
